First attempt at a zero based budget - how is it?

January 25th, 2007 at 01:55 am

So far this month we've deposited $1,618 into the bank. The balance in the account and the expenditures for which I have receipts total $1,599.19 so somewhere out there $18.81 is unaccounted for. Argggh, I wish I knew where it went!

But considering that this is my first attempt at a zero based budget, that isn't too bad, I don't think.

Is it?

It's great being able to see just where our money has gone - at least all but that $18.81!

Alright, this might work for me..it might just work.

Have you checked your checking account online to see if there was something you forgot to record in the checkbook??

Yes, I checked the account. I printed everything out. It isn't a check or debit. It must be something else but I don't know what. Cash DH spent, perhaps and didn't give me a receipt for.

The number can be divided by 3 so look at a tranposed number. You eyes may think the transaction number is the same in both places but you might have recorded it backwards.

Somerlyn, I've looked over everything several times...no luck. I'll do it again later. I'm happy it's so close, though!!
